Lisa Opielinski - Masking Techniques, Mixed Media
Saturday April 28, 10am - 2pm - Cost $100
Learn masking techniques to easily achieve varied colors and depth. You will select a colorful or neutral palette and accent colors to add your own painterly touch. You will create 2 Acrylic paintings on Ampersand Gesso Board. Included in the fee are all fine art materials needed to complete 2 paintings. Bring a sack lunch - dessert & beverages provided. Troy Crisswell - Watercolor Painting Fur Animals
Tuesdays May 1,8,15, & 22 , 9am - 12pm - Cost $120
Cats, Dogs, Goats or even Capybaras it doesn’t matter. If you want to learn how to paint animals this is the class for you. You can work from your own pictures, follow along with Troy or both. Jessie Cunningham - Clay 101
Saturdays May 5 & 19, 10am - 12:30pm - Cost $65
May 5, the instructor will demonstrate both hand building and wheel throwing. Students can then take turns throwing pottery on the wheel and making hand built pieces. Jessie will take all the pieces home for firing and return them for glazing on May 19. Students will also have time on the 19th to practice on the wheel and make more pieces. Jessie taught visual arts in boththe Shelby Co. & Alabaster school systems for over 26 years. He is now teaching part time and working in his studio. All materials for this workshop are included. This workshop will be held at the Montevallo Arts Council’s studios adjacent to the city’s recycle center on Overland Road.

Dylan Scott Pierce - Watercolor
Saturday & Sunday June 1&2, 10am - 4pm - Cost $185
This class will be focused on small Italy scenes, which will allow students to finish multiple paintings. The emphasis will be on how to use shape to convey the message and story in comparison with using color or contrast. Also, we will review many watercolor principles. This class is best for beginner to intermediate students. Dylan will give step by step demonstrations and lots of one on one help. Troy Crisswell - Watercolor Painting

Barry Graham - Hand Crafted Recycled Garden Art Luminary
Saturday July 14, 10am - 4pm - Cost $100
Create and assemble your own luminary with recycled woods, vintage and antique hardware. Learn the basic construction techniques, choose your specific hardware and colors and take home your own creation ! Prepare to do light sanding, using a screw driver, glueing and painting.
